The SSG Landers-LG Twins (Jamsil Stadium, Seoul) and Doosan Bears-KIA Tigers (Kia Champions Field, Gwangju) games were canceled due to rain, delaying the fierce race for first place and Doosan’s 11-game winning streak by a day.

This brings the total number of games canceled due to rain or dust to 50 this year.

The fourth-place NC Dinos had their four-game winning streak snapped by Jason Martin’s dramatic come-from-behind three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Dinos rallied from a 4-5 deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Hanwha Eagles in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on Sunday.

NC moved to within two games of third-place Doosan Bears and two games of fifth-place Lotte.

The game was a back-and-forth affair throughout.

After NC took the lead in the second inning on Martin’s solo home run, Hanwha answered in the bottom of the third inning with Lee Jin-young’s RBI double and Kim In-hwan’s RBI single to right to make it 2-1, and Jung Eun-won’s home run in the fourth to make it 3-1.

NC tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth on Park Gun-woo’s RBI double to left and took a 4-3 lead in the seventh on Son Ah-seob’s RBI double to right center.

Hanwha tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Noh Si-hwan, and made it 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth on a strikeout catcher’s fastball.

However, NC put runners on first and third with one out in the top of the ninth on Park Gun-woo’s technical double to right, and Martin sent Hanwha closer Park Sang-won’s forkball over the right-center field fence for the dramatic comeback win.

Kiwoom snaps eight-game losing streak with bullpen battle

The Kiwoom Heroes pulled out of an eight-game losing streak with a two-hit shutout.

Kiwoom won 5-3 against the visiting Lotte Giants at Sajik Stadium in Busan on April 22.

One loss shy of tying the team’s record for most consecutive losses, Kiwoom took a breather and moved up one spot in the standings from ninth to eighth.

Kiwoom scored four runs in the first inning to set the stage for the win 먹튀검증.

Taking advantage of Lotte starter Park Se-woong’s struggles with his pitches, new foreign hitter Ronnie Dawson, who was batting fourth and playing left field on the day, started the big inning with a clean single to center field in his KBO debut.

Lee Won-seok singled to left to drive in Lee Jung-hoo, who was at second base, and three batters later, Lee scored on a wild pitch to give Kiwoom a 4-0 lead.

Lotte pulled within one run in the bottom of the first on a double by Yoon Dong-hee and an RBI single by Ahn Chi-hong, and then cut the deficit to 4-2 in the fourth on an RBI single up the middle by Yoon Dong-hee with runners on first and second.

In the sixth, Yoo Kang-nam hit a solo shot to left to cut the deficit to 3-4.

Chasing the lead, Kiwoom regained the lead in the top of the seventh when Kim Hye-sung tripled to center and Lee Jung-hoo singled to right to make it 5-3.

Kiwoom, who activated his bullpen in the sixth inning after starter Ariel Hurtado, worked out of trouble in each inning, but gave up a double and a walk in the bottom of the ninth to put runners on first and second with nobody out.

The veteran struck out Yoo Kang-nam and then got Kim Min-seok, who went 4-for-4 at the plate, to fly out to left field and Yoon Dong-hee, who also had three hits, to fly out to center field to preserve the win.

Samsung ties the game with two infield hits – wedge point

Samsung Lions, the team with the most come-from-behind losses this season (24), scored three runs with three singles, including two infield hits, in the bottom of the seventh inning of a 1-2 home game against the KT Wiz in Daegu to come from behind and win 5-2.

KT ended its winning streak at ‘4’ and caught its breath.

Samsung struck first in the bottom of the second inning with a solo arch to left field by Kang Min-ho.

Kang Min-ho hit his 315th career home run, pushing Park Kyung-wan (current LG Twins battery coach – 314) into 12th place in that category and making him the new owner of the all-time catcher’s home run record.

KT tied the game in the top of the fifth inning, trailing 1-0, when Kang Baek-ho drew a walk, stole second and scored on Choi Jae-dae’s single to right.

After moving to second on a wild pitch by Samsung starter Won Tae-in, Choi came home on Kim Min-hyuk’s RBI single to left to make it 2-1.

Samsung had a chance to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh when Kim Dong-jin doubled to right center.

Lee Jae-hyun followed with a walk, and with runners on first and second, KT reliever Park Young-hyun was hit by a pitch to put two runners in scoring position.

Kim’s infield single to shortstop scored Kim Dong-jin to tie the game at 2-2, and Kim Ji-chan’s single to right scored Lee Jae-hyun to regain the lead at 3-2.

Soon after, Koo Ja-rook singled to center field to bring home Kim Hyun-joon to make it 4-2.

Samsung added a run in the bottom of the eighth when Jose Pirela hit a double, a passed ball and a sacrifice fly.
