Corbin Carroll (Arizona Diamondbacks) and Gunner Henderson (Baltimore Orioles) earned their first career Player of the Week honours.

In the National League, it was Carroll who shined.
Carroll batted .500 (11-for-22) with three home runs, eight RBIs, nine runs scored, a 1.091 OPS and a .542 slugging percentage last week.
He tied his career high for hits in a single game with four against the Washington Nationals on 8 August. The next day against the Detroit Tigers, he continued his hot bat with three hits, including two home runs.
Carroll played just 32 games in the big leagues last year. Arizona rewarded him with an eight-year, $110 million extension ahead of this season.
Carroll’s upside was seen as high enough for Arizona to open its wallet, a club known for being stingy with its investments.
