A Saudi Arabian professional soccer team is reportedly in the running to sign Karim Benzema, who plays for Real Madrid in Spanish professional soccer 스포츠토토.
“Karim Benzema could leave for Saudi Arabia next season,” Spanish media outlet Relevo reported on Tuesday (Aug. 30). “Benzema has received an offer from a club in Saudi Arabia of €200 million (approximately KRW 283.4 billion) per year for two seasons, along with the establishment of a school for his children,” the report said. The club that made Benzema’s offer was reportedly Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad.
The Saudis are known to use their deep pockets to attract star players. Last year, Al-Nasr signed Cristiano Ronaldo for €200 million.
Ahead of this summer’s transfer window, Saudi clubs are reportedly working to sign not only Benzema, but also some of Europe’s biggest names, including Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, Sergio Busquets, and Sergio Ramos.
“Saudi Arabia is striving to be a joint candidate for the 2030 World Cup with Egypt and Greece,” said Relevo, “and to do that, we plan to bring in world-class players to boost the country’s image.”
