Shin Yubin (No. 16-Korean Air) lost to Japanese prospect Harimoto Miwa (No. 25) to finish as the runner-up at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender Tunis ($75,000 prize pool).
Shin lost 2-4 (8-11 5-11 9-11 11-7 11-7 8-11) to Harimoto in the women’s singles final on the final day of the tournament in Tunis, Tunisia on May 25 메이저놀이터.
Shin finished the tournament as the runner-up in the women’s singles event after winning the mixed doubles title with Lim Jong-hoon (Korea Exchange).
In the women’s doubles, where she teamed up with Jeon Ji-hee (Mirae Asset Securities), Shin was eliminated in the semifinals.
On the day, Shin struggled against Harimoto’s power, but won several rallying battles in the fourth and fifth games to pull within 2-4 on game points.

Harimoto is 15 years old, three years younger than Shin Yubin, and is touted as the next ace of Japanese women’s table tennis.
Harimoto has made a name for herself on the international stage, finishing runner-up in the women’s singles at last year’s Contender Tunis and winning the women’s singles title at this year’s WTT Feeder in Antalya, Turkey.
She is also known for being the younger brother of Japanese men’s table tennis ace Tomokazu Harimoto.
Meanwhile, the Koreans are booked to win the men’s doubles.
